What is TEDx

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxMMU, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxMMU event, TED Talks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

About TEDxMMU

TEDxMMU aims to be an educational event where audience members are given the opportunity to attend a TED style event where they will be exposed to interesting, up and coming ideas from accomplished special guests on various topics. We aim to carry forward the “Ideas worth spreading” philosophy that TED aims to capture and focus on local pioneers who have fascinating ideas that have a positive impact on our society.

The event will be held in the TED style where speakers from various disciplines share their ideas in 18 minute speeches that aim to captivate the audience. Through these speeches we hope to inspire and motivate MMU students to go above and beyond their wildest dreams. We hope to have at least 6 speakers and 2 performers at our event.
